Later waves introduce tankier Brainrots that punish spread-out damage. Defense is therefore about focused fire and lane coverage, not maximizing the number of units on the field.

If you fail a wave, note which side leaked first — that directional data drives the next layout iteration better than blindly upgrading random troops.

Placement fundamentals

Roll Your Army uses tile-based placement near your base perimeter. Valid tiles highlight when you select a unit from inventory. General rules:

• Melee troops belong on tiles closest to Brainrot paths so they intercept early.
• Ranged troops sit behind melee or on elevated tiles with line of sight to multiple path segments.
• Area damage units excel at choke points where paths narrow.
• Reserve one flexible tile for mid-session swaps when a new rare pull from Lucky Blocks outclasses an incumbent.

Choke points and lane coverage

• Even spacing — looks tidy but dilutes DPS on the main pack.
• Back-loaded ranged — all archers in the rear with no front line causes leaks before ranged wind-up.

1. Slow or pause if the game allows.
